The Jail System

There are 23 jail facilities in the state's 53 counties with a combined capacity of 1,086. A jail standards and inspection program is managed by the Dept. of Corrections & Rehabilitation.

The Prison System

The Dept. of Corrections & Rehabilitation managed 1,416 inmates in 3 facilities in 2007 and has 657 employees. The agency's 2005-2007 appropriation was $133.5 million.

The Community Corrections System

In 2007, the DOC's Division of Field Services supervised 4,468 probationers and 370 parolees through 14 district offices.
