Parole Violation and Revocation: Lessons for Policy Development (Without Appendices)

Following a discussion of the significance of parole violation and revocation issues, assistance provided by the National Institute of Corrections to each of five jurisdictions is summarized. Because the number of offenders on parole is increasing, the percentage revoked must decline for work load to merely stay constant, necessitating the development of new ways to handle violations.
