Survey of Client Specific Planning Programs and Their Feasibility as an Alternative to Incarceration in Canada

This report focuses on Client Specific Planning (CSP)-a form of sentencing advocacy designed to punish, supervise, and treat prison-bound offenders in the community. The survey of twenty-seven evaluations of CSP found that it is most effective as a means of decarceration, especially when used to close institutions. This study examines the impact, recidivism rates, and costs of CSP, and it provides recommendations for the implementation of a CSP project. Accession Number: 011148
