Successful completion of day parole results in lower rates of readmission and new offenses. This report examines those factors related to successful day parole completion. Contents include: executive summary; introduction; method such as data sources and measures (e.g., day parole outcome, recidivism, risk/needs, and analysis); results for male offenders, the relationship between day parole and post-day parole outcome, other factors influencing recidivism, aboriginal offenders, and female offenders; and discussion. Also included is a sample coding manual used to record information taken from utilized databases.
