The Role of Employment and Training in Reducing Recidivism

Reasons behind the "central paradox" of criminal justice -- that "despite the balance of evidence linking employment variables to crime rates and trends becoming increasingly strong, the impact of training and employment schemes is at best mixed and at worst non-existent" (p. 2) -- are provided. Six conclusions are offered, with the lack of funding, community involvement, and long-term commitment being directly linked to failure. Accession Number: 016956
