Issues surrounding the reintegration of record numbers of individuals released from incarceration back into the community are explored. The following sections comprise this report: prisoner reentry -- an overview; the reentry process; challenges for prisoner reentry, such as substance abuse, physical and mental health, employability and workforce participation, and housing; implications of prisoner reentry for families and communities; and conclusion.
