Men, Women, and Police Excessive Force: A Tale of Two Genders: A Content Analysis of Civil Liability Cases, Sustained Allegations & Citizen Complaints

The use of excessive force by female officers in seven major U.S. police agencies is investigated. Topics discussed include: excessive force payouts; sustained allegations; citizen complaints; understanding gender and use-of-force research; and questions to be raised regarding the disparity in the number of female employment figures in general compared to sworn law enforcement positions occupied by females.
