Youthful Offender Program Follow Up Report

Recidivism of clients who had not recidivated during the original study (before 1997) is examined. This report is comprised of the following sections: introduction; objectives of the follow-up study; definitions of terms; program completion; recidivism rates for time at risk, completion type, program type, race, age of admission, and education; and conclusion. Prior to 1997, the Youthful Offender Program (YOP) "worked better" for pre-trial offenders, females, caucasians, and offenders who had a 12th grade education.
