A copy of the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (considered and passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate) is presented. The Act was signed by the President on September 4, 2003, and "provide[s] for the analysis of the incidence and effects of prison rape in Federal, State, and local institutions and to provide information, resources, recommendations, and funding to protect individuals from prison rape" (p. 1).
