Wyoming's Serious and Violent Offender Reentry Initiative: An Evaluation of Phase 1 Institution-Based Reentry Programming for Adults & Juveniles

Results from a process evaluation of the Wyoming SVORI (Serious and Violent Offender Reentry) Program are provided. This report contains these sections: overview; review of reentry research literature; overview of the Wyoming SVORI program and evaluation activities; characteristics of SVORI participants; the adult male SVORI program; the adult female SVORI program; the juvenile SVORI program; predicted SVORI outcomes; assessment of SVORI at the administrative level; and conclusions and recommendations. This study finds that the Wyoming SVORI "has been highly successful in fully implementing steps 1 through 4 [identify target population and participant needs, identify project goals and objectives, select target populations, and develop a plan to select high-risk offenders] . . . Perhaps even more importantly, the SVORI program has maintained its focus on reducing recidivism and increasing public safety" (p.126). Accession Number: 021382
