Privatizing Community Supervision

Intervention, Inc., a private, non-profit organization based in Denver, CO provides services in half of the 22 judicial districts in the state, and is funded entirely by offender fees. BI, Inc. is a private, for-profit business in Boulder, CO which initiated private probation services in 1996, and provides supervision in five states. The Salvation Army, State of Florida, is a non-profit agency providing supervision of misdemeanants in 20 counties.
