Agency policies regarding staff knowledge of inmates' infection with contagious diseases, specifically HIV, are the focus of this survey. One table lists agency responses concerning the existence of policies which allow employees to know whether inmates have contagious diseases, and whether those policies include human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. A discussion of the categories of employees with access to data concerning infected inmates is included.
