What is the Corrections Community?
It is a free web site that allows those working in the field of corrections to work together and share information online. The community is open to anyone, but the primary audience is professionals working in a corrections-related field. It is a place to reach out for advice, share your knowledge, network with your peers, and a great resource for professional development.
What is the Regional Training Initiative and how does it work?
NIC's Regional Training Initiative functions as a national network, coordinated through four regions, that enables NIC and their federal partners to support correctional training nationwide. Through its regional focus, NIC supports the delivery of corrections-related training and the development of training resources at no or minimal cost to local and state governments. It is made possible by volunteer trainers in each region and the generous support of the volunteers' agencies and other participating groups. The Regional Training Initiative is coordinated by the NIC, Academy Division.
