It Is All About Training: Who’s Developing You?

The National Institute of Corrections will host a live, 8-hour broadcast designed to provide training directors and curriculum developers with the tools and resources needed to perform at a superior level.

This broadcast will air for 4-hours each day on October 31, 2007, and November 1, 2007.

Day One will present the best of what is currently available for curriculum developers. During this 4-hour broadcast, you will preview various elements of NIC’s self-directed DVD learning tool entitled Training Design and Development, which includes the elements of successful curriculum design and a demonstration of how to address the four learning styles in every aspect of curriculum development to increase the participants learning experience.

Day Two will focus on the roles of a training director, training coordinator, or training manager. During this 4-hour broadcast, you will learn how to use NIC’s new self-directed DVD learning tool. The DVD includes topics such as the role of a training director, elements of a training budget, conducting a needs assessment, and training evaluation strategies.

This broadcast is available without charge to any agency or facility nationwide with access to the Internet or a satellite dish or downlink (both analog C-Band and digital KU-Band transponders). If your agency does not have its own satellite dish, check to see if a local college, federal prison, or hotel in your area has a downlinked meeting room.
